INTRODUCTION: The POETRY IN HYPERTEXT Project is a unique way to demonstrate students' in-depth study of a poem through hyperlinking words and phrases from the poem to a variety of supportive or expansive texts, such as explanations, interpretations, visuals, video, art, and more. It's an intertextual way to explore the multiple layers at work in a poem.
HOW TO VIEW: The designers of these projects also worked with the idea of creating a hypertext experience for future readers of the poem. To start that experience, click on an image below. (Note: You may have to sign in through your google account.) When the slide show opens, click "PRESENT." After the project is in full-screen mode, we suggest you read through the poem first -- to get a gut reaction to its events. Then begin the hypertext experience by clicking the links to expand your understanding and appreciation of the poem. We hope you enjoy it, and feel free to leave us a message at the bottom of this page.
